Terms of service
Last updated 5 October 2026.
These terms apply to your use of Tonicset ("we", "our"), a service that helps churches and other organisations plan, practise, and lead music. By creating an account or using Tonicset, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in details secure and don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate details, and keep your email address up to date so we can reach you about your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Records you contributed to an organisation, such as setlists that name you, may remain with that organisation, as described in the privacy policy.
Organisations
Most of Tonicset is used within an organisation, such as a church. The organisation's owners and administrators decide who can join, what roles members have, and what is recorded in its workspace. If you set up or administer an organisation, you're responsible for:
- having the authority to use Tonicset on its behalf;
- the information you and your members enter about other people, and having a proper basis for recording it; and
- giving members access appropriate to their roles.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone else's rights, using Tonicset;
- try to access accounts, organisations, or content you haven't been given access to, or get around Tonicset's permissions or security;
- interfere with, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, or scrape or bulk-download content from it;
- upload anything harmful, abusive, or malicious; or
- use Tonicset to send spam or other unsolicited messages.
Songs, chords, and lyrics
Songs remain the property of their writers and publishers. Chord charts and full lyrics are licensed material and are only shown to organisations that have been enabled for licensed content. You may use them only for your organisation's own worship, rehearsal, and planning, and only within the terms of any song licence your organisation holds (for example, a CCLI licence). Don't copy, publish, or redistribute them outside that use.
If you add or edit chords, lyrics, or other material, you confirm you have the right to do so. If you believe content on Tonicset infringes your rights, contact us and we'll look into it.
Your content
You and your organisation keep ownership of the setlists, notes, arrangements, and other content you add. You give us permission to store, process, and display that content as needed to run Tonicset for you and your organisation. Song suggestions you submit to the shared catalogue may be reviewed, edited, and made available to other Tonicset users.
AI-assisted features
Some features, such as song matching, theme and scripture suggestions, and lyric analysis, use automated and AI tools. Their output can be wrong or incomplete, so check it before you rely on it.
Connected services
If you connect another service, such as Spotify or Google sign-in, that service's own terms also apply to your use of it. We aren't responsible for other services.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Tonicset running and your information safe, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copy of anything you can't do without on the day. We may change, add, or remove features. If we introduce paid features, we'll tell you the price before you're charged.
Suspension and ending
We may suspend or close an account or organisation that breaks these terms, puts others or the service at risk, or where we're required to by law. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first and explain why. You can stop using Tonicset at any time.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be limited. Otherwise, we're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, for loss of data you could have kept a copy of, or for business losses. If you use Tonicset as a consumer, you also have legal rights that these terms don't affect.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using Tonicset after that, the new terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
